Unlike many porn stars, Diego De La Hoya doesn't lack conviction or determination. In fact, this former Pentecostal minister is one of the most politicized and self-actualized men in the business. His youth in the the Puerto Rican barrio turned him on to both boys and the pedagogy of the oppressed -- now he spends his days celebrating life and sucking cock. A top off-screen, the uncut stud is sweet, stable and single. Well-read, well-respected and well-hung, this 33 year old stunner has got us hot for preacher!
"The best way to make a dream is to wake up first. In dreams begins responsibility."
These words by Delmore Schwartx truly sum up the story of my life. Before I could transform my life, I had to first wake up. It began in a family of eight in a very poor, uneducated, fundamentalist, dogmatic Puerto Rican home, in a small 'barrio' of San Sebastian, Puerto Rico. I was a quiet good little boy, far from the 'worldliness' that other children of my age were involved in.
At the age of four, while playing with a young, charming Puerto Rican boy of the "barrio", Wilson. With blond hair, blue eyes, Wilson was an amazing Puerto Rican beauty not to be missed, not even at such early age. As I played the role of the physician, and doing a complete physical examination on Wilson, I experienced an inexplicable but extraordinary wave of intensity all over my body. This marvelous wave would recur in my mind for many years to come. It was then, after experiencing such strong fluctuations of energy and, after yearning and fearing it, that I withdrew from playing with Wilson and the rest of the boys. I grew up into an isolated, lonely introverted good little boy and teenager committed to reading the Bible and prayer.
At the age of 16, I was able to escape from one of the closets of my life. By reading and deeply thinking, gradually, I began to heal myself. From an ultra-introverted child I began to reinvent myself as a preacher and Pentecostal minister. It was years later, however, while in seminary training that I started to ponder Theology of Liberation in depth. I began to see myself as my own oppressor and was challenged to re-examine my own beliefs. Once I did this examination, the internal structure of my narrow-minded thinking process, "my shack", began to shatter. Finally, I realized that if I remained in Puerto Rico I would die an unfulfilled life -- I packed my one suitcase and came to California, still as a minister though.
On October 31st, 1997 -- not only the day of my birthday, but also the day commemorated as the day of the great Martin Luther reformation -- that I was called upon to deliver a sermon at a Hispanic church. On that day I walked to the altar and I nailed a rainbow flag to the altar as a statement of reconciliation in my identity as a gay man. That day I delivered my last sermon, condemning its abuse and oppression against gay men all over the world.
On that day I left the church with a new calling to find gay men and minister to their sexual needs, get them to worship an uncut juicy Puerto Rican cock and also a teach them a little "prayer" they didn't teach them in the churches they grew up in. Many have converted to this "new calling." The journey of my life has led me down different paths, one of which is HIV prevention research with the University of California in San Francisco. Within this great adventure we call life, COLT's and my path have crossed each other in a perfect axis, bringing sexual healing, enhancement and pleasure to the lives of many men all over the world. Today I continue to minister to the lives of many through HIV research, community service and my sexual performances on porn films.
If a poor, uneducated, narrow-minded Puerto Rican like myself can transform himself into an open, educated, hopeful person that tries to bring healing, education, and even sexual enhancement to the lives of others, imagine what you can accomplish with the abundance of your life? This is the dream I take full responsibility for, that I may make a difference in this sad, beautiful, tender and sexy world.
